this this  this. why do i have to be called an African-american? I’m not from Africa. My parents aren’t from Africa. Neither are my grandparents or great grandparents, etc. I don’t know the last time someone who was related to me even set foot on the continent. I’m an American and that is it. 

Right? If the same logic applied to everyone, then I would have to refer to myself as a European-American.

I’ve never been to fucking Europe.
